We start this weeks episode by talking about the eCPL, which is a partnership between EA Sports & the league for an official FIFA 20 competition. Does this mean anything for the CPL’s chances in getting into an upcoming version of FIFA?
We then get a little grumpy (ok, Adam gets grumpy) about the lack of schedule and why we’re seeing the same problems from last season already creeping into this year. We also touch on the Barton Street Battalion on the refreshed look, notably the presence of a star. Should supporter groups take on the star the club should be wearing?
Next we discuss the big deal of the Canadian men’s national team playing a friendly at Westhills and how it could be a sign that CanPL markets are in play for hosting future men’s and women’s national games. We also talk about the unfortunate passing of York 9’s mascot Yorky and how we should all be worried about killing off a robot from the future.
We then wrap up this episode with some FC Edmonton talk. We discuss the latest signing of Peruvian winger Raul Tito and how he fits into the lineup. There’s also been rumours linking a young left back out of Vancouver to the team. And speaking of Vancouver, we wonder if Didic has a spot on the Whitecaps and the chances of him returning to FC Edmonton.
